This illustrated poem was inspired by a visit to Durban when I interned at Orange Juice Design, way back in the early 2000’s. The images are based on photos that I took out of my hotel window. And the poem is inspired by my recollections of opening that window and suddenly being aware of a city waking up all around me.

This wholesome range of all-natural, vegan snack bars requested a memorable name, a logo and a quirky range of packaging.

Each scrumptious snack bar is made by hand and from only the best ingredients. Once you start eating them, you don’t want to stop - a feeling that is captured by the packaging’s hand-lettered logos and energetic illustration style.

The organic pattern, used on the wrapper and other branded elements, visually plays with the shapes of the name’s three M’s – and also the ‘mmmmm...’ sound that comes from enjoying these delicious snacks.

The project hopes to foster a love of books, reading and storytelling regardless of literacy levels, language preference and age.
