An illustrated poem, written and illustrated for iJusi Magazine’s issue about Pretoria – the city where I spent the first 21 years of my life.

Haunted house

Pretoria. My hometown.
Now my ghost town.
For me, you stand as empty
as the old Erasmus Castle.
Now there are only bats
and doves in your attic.
But sometimes I still climb
your stairs and walk your
hallways in my dreams.
