Design and illustration for the wedding of the mielie (a girl from a farm in the Free State) and the grape (a boy from the winelands).





We wanted the invites to reflect the wedding’s mix of laid-back Free State setting and vintage Provençal flair. So the overall feeling of is understated, nostalgic and elegant.



But the joy is found in the little illustrations of humble objects found on a farm - a grape, a mielie, a pair of secateurs, a tractor, a windpump, a barrel of hay. A few French objects have also been included - as the happy couple got engaged in France.
